Open your account in any of our three branches

A few things to note if you are planning to open a children’s account with us. A parent/guardian must accompany a child. The account must be opened in branch. A maximum balance of €5,000 applies to children’s accounts.’

What you need to open a junior account (under 16 years old):

• Identification: We will need identification for both child & parent/guardian. We can accept:
• Child: Birth Certificate (original copy) & a valid passport (if one exists).
• Parent: A valid passport/passport card, drivers license or National Identity Card
• Proof of Address: A utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 6 months.
  (Parent to provide this where there is no proof of address for the child.)
• Proof of PPSN for child: Drugs Payment Card, Medical Card (please ensure PPSN is visible on card) ,GP visit card, European Health Insurance Card, PPSN letter – Dept. Of Social Protection.

Anyone living, working or studying in our catchment area (or if a member of your household already holds an account in our Credit Union), is eligible to open an account.

Catchment area: Includes parts of Galway city and continues west to Connemara. It begins in the city at the Docks (with the boundary being Abbeygate Street) extending on to the Cathedral and then outwards to include Shantalla, Newcastle, Moycullen, Oughterard and Maam Cross. The boundary then heads south to include Furbo, Barna, Knocknacarra, Salthill and the Claddagh
