Lending criteria

Savings Requirement

  • Minimum of €20 in your savings.

Ability to Repay

  • We must establish that a borrower is able to afford the loan repayments, including interest, for the full duration of the loan.

Proof of Purchase

  • Cheque issued by Claddagh Credit Union will be made payable to the vendor i.e. the garage or third party from which the car is being purchased.

In the case that a guarantor is required on a loan and you are providing their documentation (e.g. payslip etc.) the Credit Union will need them to sign a Third Party Information Consent form available from our Downloads section.
